About us
The "Morasha" Project
In 2011 Avidan and Malka Buksenbaum founded Moreshet Avraham in order to offer at-risk young religious women a chance at revival – new opportunity and a place where they could blossom and build their futures.
Stage 1 was to provide these young women with the most elementary need that every child and human being must have: a home. A place to rest your head at night, hot meals, a stable environment and a sense of security.
But a house is only the first stage in the process of growth and development. Our worldview is that every person – even those who come from very difficult backgrounds – can forge ahead and initiate change, not only for themselves but also for those around them!
This is how we built Morasha's unique model of stages and created space for multidimensional growth for every young woman.
"Moreshet Avraham" was established in memory of the late Rabbi Avraham Ravitz, who served as a Knesset Member, Chairman of United Torah Judaism and a devoted educator with every fiber of his being. What symbolized Rabbi Ravitz's extensive endeavors above all was his keen ability to grasp the needs of society's most vulnerable, most invisible members. We continue his legacy and mission in his memory.
Our Vision
To give every young woman the key to self-actualization using the unique talents that she's been gifted with, training in a field that matches her abilities and integrating at employment that generates a decent livelihood.
To enable each girl to believe, discover and dream, because only those who dream (and dream big) can make it come true!
To build bridges that will promote healthy relationships, and make a turnabout from a difficult and challenging past to a flourishing and promising future.
All-Encompassing Support for Success
We operate in 3 essential areas in a young woman's life:
Physical space - providing basic needs
Emotional space - building emotional resilience and a variety of empowerment programs
Personal development space - study and professional training courses
Morasha has redefined the concept of conventional intervention when it comes to helping at-risk young women!
